The Association's membership consists of:

• Regular members: Employees of municipalities, rural communities, regional municipalities, or regional service commissions with general managerial responsibilities.

• Government members: Individuals with special knowledge or experience in municipal administration who work for the Province of New Brunswick, including Rural Districts.

• Associate members: Individuals with expertise or interest in municipal administration or services, working in non-profit organizations or educational institutions, whose membership is approved by the Board of Directors.

• Recipient members: Retired individuals with at least ten years of membership in good standing, approved by the Board, and who have received honors such as Life Member, Honorary Member, or the Thomas L. Everett Award of Excellence.

• Friends of the Association: Former employees or colleagues no longer working for local governments/RSC who wish to maintain contact with AMANB, subject to Board approval.
